In addition to the outstanding sales of the company, it also exported 566 units in the month of August. The following are the upcoming Honda diesel cars in India.
The all new Crider by Honda is a car that has looks which stands somewhere between the Honda City and the Honda Civic. While most of the people would say that there is not much scope in between that gap, Honda is on a journey to prove them wrong. Crider has been designed to take to the markets with its aim of spawning a new upper middle class segment. The car will be powered by an iDTEC engine and will have the typical features of a Honda car in terms of being spacious as well as of high quality.
Though there is no official confirmation about the exact launch date of the Accord diesel, it is expected to be launched soon in the market. The car will be powered by a 2.2-litre, 4-cylinder iDTEC engine which is capable of producing maximum power of 150bhp @4000rpm and maximum torque of 350Nm @2000-2750rpm. The car is expected to give a mileage of 17-22kmpl, which would vary according to the transmission and the driving conditions. At high speeds, the advanced Variable Gear Ratio power steering technologies make the turnings look smooth. Accord diesel will be tagged at a price of around Rs.15 lakhs.
Since Honda does not have many cars with the diesel variant, it decided to launch the brio Diesel. Due to the increase in petrol prices, the company was suffering a hit from the market as people were shifting to diesel vehicles which reduced the sales of the company. Brio diesel is expected to be launched by the end of 2013. It will be powered by a 1.4-litre iDTEC engine which will be able to produce decent power of up to 80-90bhp. Brio is a good blend of a small car having standard amount of space along with advanced features and looks. The car is expected to be priced Rs.50,000 higher than the previous petrol model.
Honda City Diesel
As the sale of Amaze has been rising day by a day, Honda decided to launch the diesel variant of Honda City as well. The car is expected to be powered by a 1.5-litre diesel engine which is capable of producing maximum power of 100bhp along with strong torque deliver. This engine is similar to that of the Honda Amaze. The only weakness that the Honda City had was the absence of a diesel variant. The diesel variant of the car is expected to be priced at Rs.1 lakh higher than the previous petrol model.
