The German luxury car manufacturing major, BMW is all braced up to launch the new refreshed BMW M6 Gran Coupe in the Indian car market today, 30th September, 2015. The new updated BMW M6 Gran Coupe will be launching in the domestic car market of India in an event that will be taking place in Mumbai. This same event will also mark the commencement of the company’s first ever ‘M Studio’ in India.
For those who are not accustomed with the knowledge regarding the M-Division, it is the company’s famous wing which is responsible for developing the high-performance versions of the regular BMW cars. The BMW ‘M’ series vehicles are famed all over the world due to their amazing performance, peerless dynamic driving capabilities and sporty design language.
In order to promote the BMW M-Division models among the performance oriented car lovers in the country, the first M Studio in India will be showcasing all the ‘M’ branded versions of those BMW models that are currently offered in India for sale. These include the M3 sedan, the M4 Coupe, the M5 as well as the updated M6 Gran Coupe. Followed by the inauguration, the M Studio will be made available in the country as an extension of the regular BMW dealership outlets in some select cities only to begin with. Followed by the inauguration of the M Studio in the city of Mumbai, the performance themed showrooms will also be inaugurated in the cities Delhi and Bangalore.
When the new updated 2015 BMW M6 Gran Coupe model is concerned, the new car will be receiving some subtle changes as compared against the outgoing model. The updates and design element changes on the exterior front of the new BMW M6 Gran Coupe includes new stylish LED headlights, restyled front bumper as well as newly styled LED tail lights. On the interior front, the updated BMW M6 Gran Coupe retains the overall interior layout and styling of the current model, while the company has endowed few new updates including new telematics, infotainment system among others.
Under the hood, the new refreshed BMW M6 Gran Coupe is powered by the same engine as the outgoing model. The rear wheel drive car will be getting equipped with the same highly refined and powerful 4.4 liter V8 petrol engine that generates an awesome 560 PS of peak power and a hammering 680 Nm of top torque. The car also comes with an optional ‘Competition Package’ which might be offered in India as well. This version offers a superb 600 PS of power and humongous 700 Nm torque. The engine is coupled to a sophisticated 8 speed Steptronic transmission gearbox.
The outgoing BMW M6 Gran Coupe is priced at for Rs. 1.71 crore (ex-showroom, New Delhi) and the new 2015 model is also expected to have similar tag. The BMW M6 Gran Coupe’s primary rival is Audi RS7, while the Maserati Quattroporte GTS and Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG are also its competitors in terms of capabilities.
