It was been reported since quite some time now that Tata Motors is planning to venture into the SUV segment. Finally it has been revealed that the company is, most likely, going to launch 2 SUVs which will be using specially developed platform and technology by Land Rover. Livemint has revealed a report which suggests that the car will be dimensionally similar to the Land Rover but will be offered at a lesser price. The new SUV is being expected to be priced in the range of Rs.10 lacs to Rs 15 lacs and will be hitting the showrooms in 2016.
The same report says that the SUV will be carrying a Tata badge and will be utilizing the company’s performance, architecture, technology as well as the body construction techniques. It can be expected that Land Rover will be also influencing the overall style and design of the SUV.
Nothing has been revealed so far about the second SUV. It can be expected that it will be a crossover as this segment is gaining momentum in auto world.
The company has been trying to modernize its designing techniques since quite some time. The company, as if now, needs to bring its new vehicles to the show rooms sooner in order to make an impact with them. The company is doing a good business at present. But if we look at their sale history, the company’s sales have fallen considerably in the last 3 years.
