The spies at Autoevolution are doing a great job. Earlier they managed to capture the Porsche compact SUV and now they have managed to capture the all new 2015 Volkswagen Jetta test driving.
The current model of Jetta was launched in the year 2011. A new hybrid variant was also added to the car’s line up. However, it will be only in the next year that the VW Jetta will get its major upgrade. It is evident from the testing mule which was heavily camouflaged.
The car will exhibit minimum amount of visual changes. The company is trying to match the car’s styling with their upcoming 2015 Jetta SportWagen. This new car is actually a wagon version of the latest model of VW Golf and not of Jetta. The car will showcase modified head lights, bumper and grille.
The new Jetta will be arriving somewhere in the year 2014. It will be using the PQ35 platform and not the company’s renowned MQB platform. It is expected that the car will get a new engine option which is a TSI 1.4 liter engine. At present the car is powered by a 2 liter engine offering an output of 115 hp and a 1.8 liter turbo engine developing 170 hp. There are also 2 liter turbo and TDI engines generating 200 hp and 140 hp respectively.
The new 2015 Jetta will not have the torsion beam suspension which means it will have an independent rear structure.
