The top selling premium car maker of India has been witnessing sales decline recently as compared to its high flying monthly growth last year. Hence, the Japanese car major is more eager to launch new car models in the Indian car market in order to generate new buzz and greater sales volumes. Honda already has its super successful City premium sedan and the newer success the new-gen Jazz premium hatchback that launched last year, while older Amaze compact sedan is also going strong. However, it also has poor sellers like the Mobilio MPV. Honda Cars India is well prepared to make the required changes in its product portfolio, and is going to launch a slew of new models in the country in the next couple of years that includes the BR-V SUV, new Accord Hybrid, all new Civic, next-gen Brio and all new Amaze.
However, among all these new upcoming launches, the one car which holds the biggest promise and is currently highly anticipated is the Honda BR-V compact SUV. The Honda BR-V is said to be the most awaited car from the house of the Japanese car major after the fourth Generation City sedan that launched in early 2014. And the BR-V is also expected to be a phenomenal success from Honda similar to what the new-gen City has been in India. Thus, simply put the BR-V compact SUV is expected to become a new game changer for Honda Cars India.
The brand new Honda BR-V compact SUV is all prepared to hit the car market of India on 5th of May 5, and post its market launch will be locking its horns with the likes of the stellar success Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki S-Cross, Renault Duster and others in India. The BR-V is essentially a crossover model based on the Brio platform, and is the fourth Honda product to be based on the highly versatile platform after the Brio entry-level hatch, the Amaze compact sedan and the Mobilio MPV. Nevertheless, the Honda BR-V is an-all new product and although it does look similar to the Mobilio from a distance, the moment to get closer to it, it becomes evident that it is much more premium vehicle and is very unique model in India. It looks superb alluring and can become a great seller simply because of its eye-catching design.
The Honda BR-V compact crossover is over 4.3 meters long and is longer than all its current market rivals in India, while it also sits on the wheelbase in its class that measures 2,662 mm. Thus, the BR-V can really afford to offer great interior space despite its compact status, while also offering a 7-seater configuration that is first in its own segment. The Honda BR-V thus also has space and seating capacity edge in the Indian market.
The BR-V gets the 1.5L petrol and diesel engines that are paired to a new 6 speed manual and a CVT automatic gearbox with first in class paddle shifters.
With so many great qualities, it will be a real surprise, if the Honda BR-V does not make it big n India.
