The new 2016 Audi A4 wa016 Auto Expo in February and will be the most important launch from the German luxury car giant in this year. Being one of most important cars from the house of Audi, the new A4 obviously can’t have any details wrong and is reportedly all set to fight for the crown in the growing luxury car segment of India.
The new soon to launch 2016 Audi A4 will be offered in both petrol and diesel versions. The new Audi A4’s petrol version will get equipped with a newly developed 2.0 liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that is capable of churning out a top power output of 190 PS and will be coupled to a very sophisticated 7 speed DSG dual clutch transmission gearbox. The Audi A4 petrol version is likely to be offered in three variants in order to provide a cleaner and more sorted out lineup.
On the other hand, diesel version of the luxury car will be obviously make for the more popular choice and thus, Audi will be offering two diesel engines options in the new 2016 Audi A4 in the Indian market. One will be a 2.0 litre 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel motor that will be able to pump out a max power of 190 PS and 400 Nm of top torque while being mated to a choice of a 6 speed manual and a 7 speed automatic dual clutch transmission gearbox. This 2L diesel mill will be offered only on the FWD variant of the Audi A4. The other diesel mill will be a more potent 3 liter V6 turbocharged unit which is capable of belting out a peak power of an impressive 272 PS along with a meaty 600 Nm of max torque. This 3L diesel burner will only be made available only on the top end Quattro AWD variants and will be exclusively paired with a refined 7 speed automatic transmission. This engine will be powering the fully loaded range topping model in the new Audi A4 lineup until the more powerful S4 as well the super fast RS4 come to our shores.
The new 2016 Audi A4 is most likely to hit the car market of India in the coming two months’ time, which is sooner than what was expected before. Rumors are also rife that the superb new Audi A4 might also undercut the current generation model of the luxury car in pricing. As it will also get manual gearbox diesel variants, these are obviously likely to be the cheapest ones in the car’s lineup and is expected to have a starting price range of around Rs. 30 lakh which will go up to Rs. 45 lakh for the range topping variant powered by the 3L mill.
With such exciting price range along with design and technological brilliance, the A4 does seem to be all prepared to gain one of the top positions in its own class in India.
