One of the most awaited new car unveilings at the 2016 Auto Expo is the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza mini SUV. The new sub-compact SUV model from the stable of Maruti Suzuki is going to have its world premiere at the Auto Expo in February 2016, and has been garnering a lot of market interest ever since the vehicle has been testing in India as the codenamed YBA SUV.
Prior to its official unveiling, Maruti Suzuki has been trying to grab the maximum attention for its Brezza by teasing the model through images. Just days ahead of the 2016 Auto Expo, Maruti Suzuki has gone ahead teasing the Vitara Brezza yet again. The auto leader in India had revealed the official sketches of the upcoming baby SUV earlier this month, and now comes a proper teaser image that offers a look at the vehicle’s front fascia with its honeycomb grille and large bright headlight.
The Maruti Suzuki sub-meter SUV got its name Brezza that literally means ‘fresh breeze’ in Italian, and surely seems to be fresh in its styling approach. The new teaser image is aimed at promoting this fresh and contemporary design language of the vehicle, while igniting greater public interest.
The new upcoming Maruti Suzuki has been fully conceptualized, designed as well as engineered by the in-house Maruti Suzuki team in India, as a challenge for the Indian team from the parent company Suzuki Corp. As per the project’s leader & Maruti Suzuki’s Chief Engineer Mr. CV Raman, the development process of the Vitara Brezza began almost 5 years ago, which means that the company has really worked hard on it.
The new Vitara Brezza sub-compact SUV model in this new teaser image flaunts flashy LED DRLs which we are hoping will be offered as standard equipment to mark its presence among its market rivals. This baby SUV post its Indian launch will go up against the Ford EcoSport and the TUV300.
While the Hyundai Creta was supposed to be also the rival of the Maruti Vitara Brezza, but as the Creta has an expensive price range and the Brezza is expected to an affordable SUV, the two are not expected to go against each other. It is also known that the Vitara Brezza’s imminent launch prompted Hyundai India to expedite the Creta’s launch, while Maruti’s delay in launching the Vitara Brezza was compensated with the Maruti S-Cross’ Indian launch. Although Maruti tried to offer a tough fight to its arch rival’s new SUV Creta with its S-Cross, but it really didn’t work in Maruti’s favor. However, the Vitara Brezza is expected to be a completely different story in terms of success.
Under its hood, the Maruti Vitara Brezza will get the familiar 1.2 liter K-Series petrol mill and the 1.3 liter DDiS diesel motor that will come paired to a 5 speed manual and an expected CVT transmission. The Brezza is likely to be tagged in the price range of Rs. 8 lakhs to Rs. 10 lakhs.
