Mahindra To Start XUV500 Export From September 2012

India’s largest utility vehicle manufacturer Mahindra and Mahindra announced their plans to export their SUV Mahindra XUV500 to Australia, Europe, Argentina and Chile. Earlier the company was planning to start the export only in 2013 but they have changed their mind and rumors are that Mahindra will introduce their flagship SUV in the international market ahead of the festival season in India. Mahindra and Mahindra have come to this decision after evaluating various aspects of introducing the SUV in the international market. Since Mahindra is planning their entry to the international market early, it is clear that they are very eager to start the export.

At present Mahindra is exporting their XUV to South Africa.  The expansion of export is mainly to increase the sales on a global basis. The Mahindra XUV 500 is a success in India. Company believes that there is a strong possibility that the vehicle will be well received in their foreign destination and they want to tap the European market as early as possible. Though Mahindra has taken the decision to venture out in to the European and other international market, it will not be a cakewalk for them with so many competitors. The automobile market in Europe is already flooded with many well known companies like General Motors, Ford and Renault. To achieve the expected sales Mahindra will have to offer something unique. After commencing the export to Europe the company has plans to expand the export of XUV500 to other markets in Korea, Russia, South America and Central America.

In India there is a shortage felt for Mahindra XUV 500. The company is finding it difficult to manufacture as many units according to the demand. Though the company has tried to overcome this difficult situation by revamping the production of XUV 500 it has not been successful.  The Mahindra SUV buyers fear that the export will affect the internal supply of the vehicle. Mahindra is planning to increase the production capacity of XUV 500 in order to make it available for export. It is expected that company will be able to deliver 5000 units a month. The increased production will ensure an uninterrupted supply of the vehicle in the internal and external market.

Mahindra and Mahindra is an experienced manufacturer and they will consider all the aspects before staring the export. It is difficult to take a decision about buying an SUV for any customer as there are many options available in the market. Most of the buyers the world over will be looking for space, comfort, utility, appearance and affordable price when selecting the SUV for their use. The Mahindra XUV has all these and hence will be the best choice as an SUV.
