Homegrown utility vehicle manufacturing leader, Mahindra & Mahindra is really working hard to reinforce its market position in the aggressively competitive Indian SUV market. The Indian car major has already launched two new products in the domestic car market in this year, namely the KUV100 and the NuvoSport, both of which are sub-4 meter SUV model but are placed in two different market.
Among these two latest launches, the Mahindra KUV100 is an entirely new product which is also highly important for the country. The KUV100 had formed the new micro-SUV segment in India, while it is also Mahindra’s first SUV to get a petrol motor choice; the mini SUV also introduced Mahindra’s all new range of petrol and diesel engines. The new Mahindra KUV100 micro-SUV is garnering good amount of customer interest and sales in the country ever since it launched in January this year. Now, as per the latest reports, the Indian car major has also commenced the export of the KUV100 micro-SUV.
Mahindra & Mahindra has already shipped more over 400 units of the Mahindra KUV100 SUV car to several right-hand-drive or RHD markets such as Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka and South Africa. South Africa is currently the biggest export market for the KUV100, as the countfor the KUV100, as the country is already a hot ground for many other Mahindra products such as the Mahindra Scorpio and XUV500 SUV models.
Indeed, the Mahindra KUV100 can be a small wonder for the sales of the Indian SUV master, if it sustains its growth in the domestic market, while also catching up with some good amount of popularity in the international markets.
The Mahindra KUV100 does have all the right features to be a good and ght features to be a good and long lasting success. The vehicle has compact dimensions that make it a capable city car and allows it to rival the popular hatchback models in India. Despite the hatchback-like driving convenience as well as a sporty hatchback-like exterior design language, the KUV100 is essentially a mini soft-roader offering the SUV-like convenience of a high seating position and high ground clearance. It also looks fairly aggressive to mark it apart from the hatchbacks, while it also does not try too hard to look like a SUV, which works in its favor. While the KUV100 might not be a very handsome car, it certainly is an eye-catcher and well worth of attention.
The Mahindra KUV100 sub-4 meter mini SUV has so far received superb market response in its home ground with twenty one thousand bookings within one month of its launch and by managing to sell 14,210 units sold till the month of March this year. In fact, currently the KUV100 is the second bestselling product from the stable of Mahindra on a monthly sale basis right after the top selling, Bolero.
The small wonder from Mahindra might not be perfect, but it comes with everything packed in a small package, which seems to be sweeter given its small pocket pinch that starts at just Rs. 4.42 lakhs. Now, who could wonder that an SUV could be priced as cheap as a compact hatchback model?
