The most famous car makers from Japan, Honda is planning to launch the sedan version of their hatchback, the Brio in India by the year 2013. This will be a compact version of Honda brio which is a bit smaller than the Honda City. Honda is expecting that the lower price of this compact model than the Honda city will attract buyers who will opt for enter level sedans or the premium hatch backs. Honda is trying to keep the pricing within the budget fixed by them. Honda is targeting the markets in developing countries like India and Thailand where the pricing is a major factor for buying cars.
Honda expects that as there is demand for hatchbacks and entry level sedans like Polo, Vent, Swift and Dzire, the sedan version of brio will also get accepted by the Indian market. It is expected that the closest competition for this vehicle will be from Maruti swift, Volkswagen Vento, Toyota Etios and a few other entry level vehicles. It is expected that with the good performance and excellent looks of Brio, the sedan version from Honda will get some mileage over their counter parts. There is no doubt that any car from Honda with great style, look, mileage, comfort; smooth riding will be well received in Indian market. What Honda has to do is to reduce the pricing to attract the Indian consumers who are fed up of the increasing petrol prices.
