Honda motors is all set to launch its multi purpose vehicle, the Honda Mobilio in India on 23rd July. The company has officially confirmed the news a few days back. The upcoming model is based on the Honda Brio hatchback. Honda has already started promoting the MPV in the Indian market. It has roped in stand-up comedian Kapil Sharma to talk about Mobilio in his own style.
The Honda Mobilio’s suspension is based on the Honda Brio hatchback. It also borrows a lot of elements from the Honda Amaze and the City sedan models as well. The Mobilio MPV will be offered in petrol and diesel variants with different options. The petrol edition will be offered with a 1.5 ltr i-VTEC motor, which is already powering the Honda City sedan. It offers maximum power output of 119 PS and maximum torque of 145 Nm.
The petrol variant will be available in a five speed manual or a five speed auto gearbox transmission options. The diesel edition on the other hand will have the 1.5 ltr i-DTEC motor, which is powering the Honda Amaze and the diesel variant of the City. It offers max power of 100 PS and peak torque of 200 Nm. It will be available with a five speed manual gear box transmission option.
There is no official word on the pricing of the Mobilio MPV. However, reports suggest that it could start from around Rs 6.50 lakhs for the basic petrol edition.
