Finally, there is good news coming through from the Honda Motors camp that it is going to showcase the diesel version of Honda Civic in the upcoming Paris Motor Show. This news will definitely excite the Indian Honda car loyalists as they were the ones who were waiting anxiously for the launch of a diesel version of Honda car. The Honda Civic car is to come out with a 1.6 litre i-DETC diesel engine that was recently showcased at the Geneva Motor Show and the car’s debut in Pairs would surely open a new chapter in the Honda books. Life for Honda vehicles would never be the same again if the Honda Civic diesel or any other popular Honda cars make it to Indian with a diesel engine. There is no doubt that Honda would see an unprecedented demand for the diesel cars and would create a real market swing in India as far as mid level sedan class is concerned.
Moreover, the Honda Civic that is coming out with a diesel engine is all set to dish out a maximum power of about 118 bhp at 4000 rev and a peak torque of about 300Nm at 2,000 rpm. It is expected that the CO2 emission levels would be as low as 94 gms to a kilometer and the car is also expected to deliver a fuel efficiency of about 27 kmpl. It is expected that the diesel version of Honda Civic would hit the roads in 2013.
