We have been regularly bringing you the information regarding the arrival of the much awaited EcoSport SUV in India and finally, Ford has unveiled the sub-4 metre vehicle in the country.
The EcoSport concept was previewed by Ford at the Auto Expo held at New Delhi in the previous year. Since then, the compact SUV is very much anticipated and has been regularly into the news regarding its arrival on the Indian soil. Now, finally the American carmaker has unveiled the EcoSport in India.
Ford will be offering the EcoSport in three engine variants to choose from. The very first of these three engine options is the 1.5 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine accompanied by 1.5 litre Turbocharged Diesel engine and at the last the very attention-seeking 1.0 litre Turbocharged Ford EcoBoost Engine which will be powering the very first vehicle in the segment to possess a voice enabled interactive system which is named as SYNC. All the three engines will be mated to a five speed manual gearbox, with the petrol motor possessing an optional automatic transmission.
Overall, the common specs of all the three variants of the Ford EcoSport includes power steering, power windows, aircon, central locking, rear demister, 200mm ground clearance, 550mm water-wading feature and 60:40 split seats. The other features of the compact SUV include rear parking sensor, ABS & EBD, Keyless Entry System, Driver’s airbag and Front Passenger’s airbag.
Ford EcoSport will be soon available for sale in the Indian market to give a stiff competition to the Renault Duster. mahindra is also being anticipated to roll out a new innovation to stand in front of the EcoSport.
