The soaring popularity of Ford Fiesta and the smaller version Ford Figo could be one of the reasons why Ford motors is mulling at coming up with two new models of cars in India. The excellent customer service, good featured cars, excellent after sales service as well as aptly manufactured to withstand the tide of Indian roads are some of the pluses that work in favor of Ford Motors India. The excellent feed back from customers all over the country might also be the reason for Ford India to come up with plans to in fact work on a slew of cars pertaining to all the car segments.
The second manufacturing plant set up at Sananad in Gujarat will be manufacturing plenty of Ford cars in a coupe of years to be exported all over the world. Two cars that might make a huge impact in the auto industry, as far as Ford India is concerned, is to be perhaps made in this Sananad plant. There are wide spread reports of Ford already having commenced work on a new entry level car tipped to be smaller that the Fiesta model. This new car is said to replace the popular KA model in South America and Europe. The car is also said to be coming to India by 2013 and would be traversing the length and breadth of Indian roads along with another popular Ford car, Figo. This entry level global model is said to give tough competition to the newly launched successful super minis plying on the Indian roads like the Honda Brio, Maruti Swift, Toyota Liva and of course the Nissan Micra.
There are also rumors that the engineers in Ford India are currently working on another compact B class sedan with a top hat. This car might be similar to the concept of the boot provided to the hatch backs by popular car manufacturers like Tata, Maruti and Toyota. The Fiesta and the Focus European cars have the same hatchback theory on their cars and this same successful model is to be implemented in India in the next fiscal year giving tough challenge to the likes of Etios and Swift cars. Also, Brio will be coming up with a booted version sometime next year and so Ford engineers will need to be very careful with this new car in order to be the leader in this segment on the Indian roads.
If there is a conscious effort from the part of the Ford engineers to keep the length of the car under 4 metres, then they can price this sedan at an affordable price that even middle class Indian car lovers could afford. So, there are lots to look for from the Ford company in the next couple of years.
