The Hyundai Santro entered the small car market in India with a great bang. This car is loved by people for its practicality and performance. This car became the proud of Hyundai. Though Santro is still a good player in the small car section, Hyundai developed a modern hatchback to cater to the changed needs of the customers. The result of the research by Hyundai is the hatchback Eon. This modern hatchback didn’t get an enthusiastic welcome like Santro. It bagged only the 12th position among the most selling cars in India in 2012.
Hyundai Eon offers great looks for a small car. The interior quality is also very impressive. This is one of the most fuel efficient models available in the market. The mileage of the vehicle is 21 kmpl. These positive qualities are liked by people but, there are some factors which people felt not very impressive. The engine of this vehicle is very weak for highway trips. So, it can only be used for the normal city driving. Another factor which made this vehicle in effective is the low gear box shift quality. This makes driving not very easy when compared to other vehicles in the same segment. The competition in the small car segment is very high with Chevrolet spark and TATA’s small car Nano as the opponents. Hyundai should rectify the drawbacks of the Eon to make the sales figures go up or Hyundai. The buyers in Indian market now give emphasis on performance and efficiency to go for a car.
