Indian automobile manufacturer DC Avanti has launched its first sports car in Pune. Dilip Chhabria himself was present at the launch event and kicked off the proceedings. The event took place in Maharashtra’s one and only DC Design dealership that is located in Pune. The DC Avanti is the India’s first homemade sports car.
The DC Avanti sports car was first previewed in the year 2014 at the Auto Expo in Delhi. The company is manufacturing the car at its plant in Talegaon, near Pune. The Avanti features a carbon-fibre body shell, and has a lightweight space frame chassis. It comes in several attractive colour variants, and comes with a stylish design.
The Avanti sports car is powered by a mid-mounted engine that the company has sourced from Renault. It has a 2.0 ltr turbocharged euro-5 compliant petrol motor. It is capable of generating a maximum power output of 248 bhp and a peak torque of 340 Nm. The power is provided to the rear wheels via a six speed manual gearbox.
According to the company’s claim, the DC Avanti can go to 100 km from zero in just six seconds, and has an electronically limited maximum speed of 180 kilometer per hour. It also comes with custom matte finish paint jobs, and an Apple Car Play infotainment system. It will be available at a starting price tag of Rs 35.93 lakhs.
