Chevrolet Trailblazer and Chevrolet Spin officially revealed in India

Chevrolet has officially revealed  the Trailblazer SUV and Spin MPV in India. The Chevrolet SUV will be launched in October 2015, whereas the Spin MPV will hit the Indian market in 2017.

The Chevrolet Trailblazer is a 7-seater, body-on-frame SUV. The model measures  4,878mm in length, 1,902mm in width, 1,834 in height, and a wheelbase of 2,870mm. The Chevrolet Trailblazer will get a 2.8-litre Duramax turbo-diesel, in-line 4 cylinder engine. It generates power output of 200 hp at the rate of 3600 rpm and a peak torque of torque 500 Nm at the rate of 2000 rpm. Transmission options will come with a 6-speed automatic as well as 6-speed manual. The top spec variants will get a four-wheel drive option.

Some of the features offered on the Chevrolet Trailblazer include projector headlights, LED tail lamps, and 18-inch alloy wheels, leather seat upholstery, steering-mounted audio & telephony controls, automatic climate control, and a power-adjustable driver’s seat. Safety nets include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, Hill Descent Control, Hill Start Assist, and Electronic Stability Control. The Trailblazer will be imported to India from Thailand  via CBU route.

The Chevrolet Spin MPV will set a competition against Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Honda Mobilio, and Renault Lodgy. The model measures 4,360mm in length, 1,735mm in width and 1,683mm in height and like Chevrolet Trailblazer, it is also a 7-seater car.

The Chevrolet Spin will be available with petrol engine option, in the form of a 1.2-litre 4-cylinder DOHC 16 valve dual VVTi unit, or a larger 1.5-litre motor. It will deliver a power output of 107 bhp at the rate of 6000 rpm and torque of 142 Nm at 3800 rpm. The 1.2-litre petrol engine will generate a power output of 85bhp at 5600 rpm and 115 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm.

The oil burner will be a 1.3-litre four-pot, common-rail direct injection turbo-diesel engine. This engine produces 74bhp at 4000 rpm and 190 Nm of torque at the rate of  1750 rpm. The engines will be mated to either 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
