2013 Skoda Octavia expected to launch by this October in India

Skoda is showing all signs to launch all new 2013 Skoda Octavia by October this year in India. Skoda is doing continuous test runs of its new model, several alleged pictures of new Octavia are also surfacing all over the internet everyday.

It is rumored that 2013 Skoda Octavia will be launched with two engine variants 1.8L TSI Turbo petrol engine and another 2.0L TDI Turbo diesel engine. Rumors are that Skoda engineers have given special attention to improve fuel efficiency of this new model by using weight reduction techniques. It is also expected to feature 7 speed automatic transmission which till now is being used in Skoda Laura and Volkswagen Jetta, which are both diesel cars.


It is interesting to note that the current version of Skoda Octavia is sold with the name of Laura in Indian circuits. Interiors of this new version is expected to be much improved than the previous version of this car, It is believed  it will have spacious cabin with enough legroom and headroom space, boot space will also increase. Some rumors are it will be the most spacious car in its segment which will be promoted as one of its USP’s.

2013 Skoda Octavia will support all new Volkswagen MQB platform, which according to VW is one of their most important platforms.

Skoda will most probably assemble new Skoda Octavia in its Aurangabad, Maharashtra plant as CKD (completely knocked down). Automobile experts are already betting on it as to be most successful Skoda car on Indian roads due to its expected world class safety features, design, spacious interiors. Rumored to be priced around Rs 18-20 lakhs this new Skoda Octavia has no doubt already started market to talk about its qualities, all eyes are now on Skoda to set its launch date.
